Unwavering trust in Christ July 29, 2007

Is it possible to trust God through ALL circumstances? Or are some situations just too trying and difficult that you can’t rely upon the Almighty?

In my six years of being a Christian, I have found that God is trustworthy. Jesus Christ is faithful. No matter what I’ve been through or am going through, God, Jehovah-Jireh, has ALWAYS provided. I have journals upon journals to prove this.

However, when circumstances get tough, why do we often forget how God has graciously guided us through in the past? Why is it so easy to forget that He has been there for us? Why wouldn’t He do the same for this situation – this financial problem, this health problem, this pain problem, this relationship problem? What makes this problem any different than others before?

There are so many verses I could quote to show that God is faithful through all our trials. But the one that I read yesterday and am going to dwell upon for the next 30 days is Isaiah 26:3-4:

The steadfast of mind You (God) will keep in perfect peace because he trusts in You (God). Trust in the Lord forever, for in God the Lord we have an everlasting Rock.

Build your life upon the ROCK, the one true God. Nothing that comes your way can shake that solid foundation. As the hymn says, “On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand. All other ground is sinking sand.”
