Katy graffiti saga comes to an unbelievable end August 1, 2007

As probably the final update to the Katy graffiti saga, the middle-school student has received her punishment. She will be required to write a letter of apology, draw posters prohibiting school graffiti and will write letters to legislators explaining her case. Oh, and she will ask those lawmakers for clarification on school discipline laws. Read the story here.

Can I just say unbelievable?  How does the school district go from one extreme to the other?  What, if any, lesson can possibly be learned by drawing posters?  Not even school suspension?  I can’t understand this outcome.  I hope, at least, the student’s parents gave her a more suitable punishment.  Wait, who am I kidding?  Her parents were trying to get her out of the school’s discipline.

I’m very curious to see how other similar cases in the Katy school district turned out.  Will those students also be drawing posters?  Time will only tell…
